Making Images With a Plan

Making images on the fly is always fun and great, but having a bit more of a plan together allows the shoot to go smoother and get your talent on their way (in this case on her way to the pool sooner). I was able to walk around the property a bit and think what can I do for this girl who loves to read–she was actually continuing to read while I was doing adjustments and changes to my lighting.

Later on in the day, I did another session I wasn't happy with because I didn't have the plan or the vision for the shoot–it was just a "Let's go take a picture" type of thing. So, because of that I'm going to reschedule the session and craft the image I have in my mind instead of just a snap shot.

Lesson to be learned, making a plan sometimes makes a better image (for me anyway).
