Vacation Photography
Currently, I'm trying to plan on what to take with me on our European adventure for camera gear. Typically, on any given day I'd have my Evoc CP 26 or even the EVOC CP 35, but why would I want to take that much stuff on vacation? I've been reading a lot of forums lately and they are all saying take this, that and the kitchen sink - but really who wants to carry that much gear and more importantly that much weight?
Having already been on a similar trip with a camera bag and a few options of lenses, I know it is more of a burden than just trying to capture images for our memories. The fact is, you don't have to take lots of gear unless you're planning on working or doing some portfolio pieces.
My plan is to ditch the DLSR and the lens options altogether and pick up a Fuji X100s, take along a couple pocket wizards and a strobe and a gorilla pod or two. Keeping it simple, but give me a few options if I want to pop some light into a scene.
Enjoy the travel and seeing the sights instead of attempting to get "the shot".
