The beginning of This & That
I will keep this post brief as it is the first entry of This & That.
Last week I had the unfortunate task of driving 12 hours to say goodbye to my uncle. It was a very peaceful morning in NB along the river and a perfect setting to say my farewell to another family member.
While in NB, there was a celebration of art by another family member, Rev. Randolph Nicholson. Although from what I understand it was mostly attended by the self-important people of NB in celebration of themselves and an overly romanticized pre-tractor logging industry. This lead me to think about why I create, and why I believe most people create - for ourselves first, and the pompous self-importance second or third. We love what we do, but we also need to make money - feeding the system.
Well, I'm going to continue to do what I do, in the way that I like to do it because being creative is my passion, and hopefully I won't need to feed the system (or at least showcase any of that feeding).
Cheers!
